The evening kick off on Saturday sees Everton host Manchester City and unfortunately for Everton, City don’t appear to be slowing down and taking it easy, they want to win the title as soon as possible. This has been a fantastic season for Manchester City and they thoroughly deserve to be where they are in the league. They have been clearly the best team in the league this season, and it is only a matter of time before the title is wrapped up. Everton began this season very poorly, but after improved form they are now in 9th, and just three points away from 7th, which would probably have been their target at the start of the season.
Just like any other time during this season, Manchester City have been in great recent form. They have won four of their last five games, with the other one being a draw, and have also been showing good form in Europe, where they recently qualified for the next stage of the Champions League. This season has all been about the dominance of Manchester City, and it doesn’t look like stopping soon, which is not good news for Everton.
Everton have won three of their last five games and they have been a lot better than we saw at the start of the season. At one point they were struggling in the relegation zone, and underperforming hugely, but what we have seen in recent weeks is what we expect from them. They have a chance to finish 7th if they end the season well, something they will have targeted at the start, turning this into a strange, but good season for them if they were to do that.
Manchester City Odds
Manchester City are strong favourites for this game and it is easy to see why with the squad they have assembled this season. They have shown form far superior to anyone else in the Premier League this season, and it doesn’t look like any team is capable of stopping them.
City are price up at 4/11 generally to win this game, which is a little short so I will be recommending a bet on the handicap line. On the -1 handicap line, Manchester City are priced up at 19/20 with Bwin, a very fair price. To win this, they need to beat Everton by two goals or more, but based on what we have seen recently from the City attack that looks to be something they can do.
From a betting point of view, the handicap line of -1 is the way to go when backing Manchester City this weekend, and they look a solid bet on it, at a nice price.
Everton Betting Odds
As expected, Everton are a big price to win this one, and they are priced as high as 9/1 with some bookmakers, a price which may tempt a few people. They have a small chance of victory, but it is going to not only require Everton at their best, but it will also need Manchester City to underperform as well, something I don’t think will happen.
Everton are capable of putting up a good fight, but their quest to remain in the top half of the table may have to wait a week longer, because Manchester City look a tough team to beat.
Manchester City Tips
Manchester City look more than capable of beating Everton, and there is a good chance they can beat them comfortably. Instead of using the standard win line I am more than happy to chance Manchester City on the handicap line of -1. This means they have to win the game by two goals or more, but that looks to be something they can do.
They are priced up at 19/20 on the -1 handicap line with Bwin, something that I am happy to take because I think it represents a good price. Manchester City are too strong for Everton, and that will show on Saturday.
